Noise Act 1996The
Noise Act 1996 allows local authorities to investigate complaints
about noise from dwellings at night. If the complaint is valid they
can issue a warning notice which takes effect 10 minutes after being
served and lasts until 7am the next morning. If the noise continues
the local authority can the seize the equipment causing the noise,
i.e. musical equipment.
